Ultimamente están sucediendo algunas cosas interesantes en términos de ponencias sobre IT, en Santiago. Entre ellas, destaco la charla del Profesor Miguel Nussbaun V., que organiza el Dpto. de Ciencia de la Computación de la Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile.

El título de la ponencia es "Mobile Computer Supported Collaborative Learning: Transforming the Classroom Experience".

El contenido prometido para mañana, según la invitación enviada por la Universidad:

"The main aim of this talk is to show how a technology centered classroom may change the role of the teacher and the student. The teacher moves from being a sun that illuminates with knowledge the children, to one where s/he is a mediator
that helps to construct their knowledge. The child's role changes from a passive to an active one, where s/he can freely move within the classroom permitting the child's natural mobility.

Two experiences are analyzed. One that used Nintendo's Gameboy for teaching through Video Games and the other with Pocket PCs with an Ad Hoc network. Besides achieving an improvement in the pedagogical aspect, the technology allows to mediate on social and communication skills. While the children communicate face to face on the social network, they support their work with the Pocket PCs interconnected in a wireless network. This allows a true face to face communication
facilitated by the Pocket PCs wireless network mobility.

We address the point that we have to actively incorporate the teacher in the use of the technology in order to ffectively achieve an improvement in the learning experience.

Se trata de la misma charla que el profesor Nussbaum acaba de dar como "keynote speaker" en la Second IEEE International Workshop on Wireless and Mobile Technologies In Education, que se llevo a cabo en Taiwan el 25 de marzo pasado".

Dónde y cuándo

Mañana viernes 02 de abril a las 11:30 horas, en la sala Javier Pinto (ubicada en el Campus San Joaquin, Edificio San Agustin, 4to. piso, Dpto. de Ciencia de la Computación).

El programa Asia Miles lanzó una promoción para sus viajeros frecuentes, por la cual estimula a canjear millas acumuladas por un Ipod.

Con 69.000 millas se puede acceder al pod de 20 GB. Mientras que para el de 40 GB es necesario contar con 86.000 millas.

La única limitante es que el delivery se realiza solamente a Honk Kong.

.. Y en Gucci, en Pucci Pucci y en Coach y en Dior; con vestidos de casi 200 dólares, prácticamente el valor del reproductor (IPOD de 15 GB), en los Estados Unidos.

Con este nuevo antecedente, se afianza la relación entre moda y tecnología, y el paradigma del "be cool" que se puede ver con frecuencia en medios de tendencias.
